Hello,

I just bought my first Ram truck, a 2026 1500 Limited Longhorn in Molten Red PearlCoat with the Bison Brown Filigree interior and 3.0L i6 H.O. Hurricane engine, it has the RamBox Cargo System and a soft tonneau cover, I went to order the BakFlip 4 hard locking tonneau cover online when I got home from picking up my truck and was asked if I had the black or silver bed rails in the truck bed, when I looked they are the black rails, I was told that I would need the silver bed rails to be able to install a hard tonneau cover and that you can only get them from Ram for $670.

Is there any place to get them cheaper besides possibly a salvage yard?

I had no idea that this would be an issue or extra cost since it came with the soft tonneau cover from Ram.

Yeah, the silver rails are needed for most aftermarket covers. There is someone who bought a cover that was compatible, but I don’t remember what company it was.
Also, keep those black rails with your factory cover, they must go with if you want to sell it.
