Hey guys. I posted this on another section of this forum a while ago but did not receive much help so wanted to try here.
Now before there are comments about these lifts not being good and to get a proper lift, I already know the potential issues. I do not want to cut my frame, I do not off-road and a dirt road is the extent I’ll use it on, and 3.5 seems like the perfect height for me.
I have a 2019 Ram 1500 4wd and am looking to get a ReadyLift or Rough Country 3.5in kit to go with my full set of Biltein 5100s. Where I am confused is that I have two options on what to do installing the kit.
1. Have the front Bilsteins adjusted all the way down and use the RL or RC kit as normally instructed
2. Adjust the Bilsteins to clip #4 or #5 and omit the preload spacer and use a 2in tophat only on the front and rear 2in kit
My questions are,
-Which method is better for ride quality? Is there any difference or does one allow the struts to work better?
-I have heard that in method 2, clip #4 will still leave some rake and #5 will be a bit nose high so neither are truly level? Can anyone confirm that? I do not tow and would like a fully level look.
-is one kit (RL or RC) better than the other? From what I see, the RL is about $300 more, comes with rear bump stop extenders, and an aluminum preload spacer. Is this all really worth the extra $300?
Thanks in advance for all the help!
