Chrysler recalls more than 450,000 vehicles with trailer brakes that could fail (merged threads)

Fortunately for me this won't affect my truck, as it has less than 1100 miles on it even though I bought it in August of 2024. Can't tow with a non-running vehicle.

They shouldn't be selling that old stock, idiots.
To their credit, they are supposed to be shipping me out an AH module today along with a return label. Although I don’t understand how there are not controls in place to prevent a recalled part from being shipped in the first place. Regardless, I appreciate them making it right without any hassle.

I scheduled my appointment early for March 2 for this recall as soon as I heard about it. My dealer just called and cancelled the appointment as they do not yet have parts. Looks like I'm at the back of the line with everybody else. And I suppose they will prioritize the unsellable trucks sitting on dealer lots before the ones that have already been sold.

Called my dealer today, since I kept getting check trailer connection - when I don’t even have a trailer connected.

Put me on the list and said they can’t order my part till March 20th, so I guess they are only allowed to order x number a week or something.

Just dropped mine off at the dealer to get the recall work completed. They didn't mention any delays, yet. We'll see. It's early.

And the shoe comes cascading down.....

Here’s the current schedule. Note that RAM/FCA has indeed filed a remedy with NHTSA. The replacement part number is known. It’s just a matter of when they will have the replacement parts available. Given this schedule, it looks like April.

Good/bad news....
Bad news - Dealer called and canceled my March 10 appointment!!!!
Said they are waiting to get parts.
Good news I'm #1 on the customer list. And they will allot one part for customer to one part for dealer lot as they come in. Don't know how to tell but I can hope.
I'll keep ya'll updated.

You’ve got a good dealer!!
Follow-up, took the truck in this morning and they completed the recall and a software update. Don't really notice any issues with the software update or the recall work. Initially stated 4 hours but downloading the software delayed the stay by another four hours. I'm just hoping the software update doesn't lead to other issues.🤞

I am waiting on a truck that I ordered that went down the assembly line on 1/22 and has been sitting ever since. The last time I checked with my dealer it showed that it was at the body vendor. I wonder if the factory is also waiting on parts before they can ship out my truck.

After seeing my truck was a part of the recall I called the dealership to get it in and set up an appointment for this Monday. They said it shouldn't be a problem and I'd get it back quickly.

I got a call Monday afternoon that the parts aren't available yet so they couldn't fix the issue. They couldn't tell me that when I called in to set the appointment? Stuff like that is so frustrating.

I agree but I don’t think they’ve even formally notified us owners yet. That won’t be until later this month.

I just got notified of the recall by RAM...
Local dealer made an appointment, 40 miles away, but sounds like it would be a trip for nothing.
Where is the module located?? ( I just bought my '26 2500 so in the learning curve about everything)

Behind the back seat, just in the passenger side of center. Lift the seat and look on the back wall.
I just got the notification on my app today, but don’t know if parts are really available yet.
