I was investigating a front driver side suspension clunk on turning while changing direction froIMG_3574.jpegIMG_3574.jpegIMG_3575.jpegIMG_3577.jpegIMG_3579.jpegIMG_3580.jpegm forward to reverse. Such as when pulling out of a parking space or the garage. I did not find the cause of the clunk, but saw this hose hanging down from the rear of the engine region. The end was sitting in the skid plate and resting against the exhaust pipe and melted a hole in the hose. I fished the end of the hose up to the top of the engine to secure it in a safe location. In one pic you can see the melted hole and in another the tag with part number on it. And then the end of the hose I pulled up to the top of the engine.
Back story, I had a crank angle sensor fault that the repair escalated to replacing the engine harness. No faults since, But I am guessing that is when this got dislodged vs disconnected and failed to be reconnected.
Anyone know what it is? Is it a vent hose from the tranny of transfer case? I traced the hose on the rear diff and it has a protective cap on the end. And that hose dose not have a part number tag like this one does.
Thanks.

Would need to trace the other end and see where it goes. Possibly sunroof drain if you have a panoramic sunroof.

Ok. I guess I should have done this first, but I looked up the part number on the tag and it is listed as the transmission case vent.
Thanks anyway.
Now if anyone knows why my front suspension is clunking I will take help in that direction as well. Haha

Transmission and transfer case vent hose

Sway bar links, CV Axle play, Inner shaft play.

Disconnect the sway bar and see if that resolves the issue. If so replace links.
