Can anyone tell me the difference between the modules? Old one works in my truck but radio is locked and dealership will not fix it, and so I am swapping to the other module, once everything is connected, I’m not getting the screen to power up? Is there any special programming that can be done? I am 100 positive that the module is good.
The pic on the right is the module that is has radio lockout, 2nd pic is the module that the screen will not come up.
TIA!

You can try this method to get your code or pay $10 for a code from an E-Bay seller, that's where I got my code from for my UC5 System.

Sometimes when swapping radio modules between vehicles, the unit needs to be programmed or paired with the truck’s VIN before the screen will power up properly. Even if the module itself is good, the system can stay locked or inactive until it’s coded to the vehicle.

If the dealership won’t help, you can usually get the radio unlocked or the correct code online. A site like radiocodepro.com can generate the radio code for around $9 or so, which might solve the lockout issue.

So before assuming the module is bad, it may just need VIN programming or the correct radio code.
