You're blindfolded and tossed into the passenger seat or backseat of a Ram
- Rebel
- Laramie 4x4
- Laramie 4x2

Are you able to tell the difference in the ride?
If so, how much?
If a few hour drive, will you be wishing for one over the other?

ETA :
Using AutoTrader to search, a 300 mile radius there are 25 (4x2) Ram 1500 Laramie trucks available.
Select only blue or grey color and its down to 3.

Expand the search to Laramie (4x4) in blue or grey in only a 100 mile radius and there are 109.

If stuck going with a 4x4 then thinking why not get a Rebel. Really like the look especially the two tone.

If the 4x2 ride quality is so much better, I will skip any potential discounts and end up ordering one.
But if the Ram 4x4 ride is better than other manufacturers 4x2, that could be a viable option.

I don't know about your exact question but this is a fact........My 2020 Laramie 4x4 with the off road package; which I always thought rode great, compared to my 2026 Laramie 4x4 (no off road package) was a stiffer/harsher ride.
The 2026 is dramatically smoother, wife and I comment on it everytime we're in it.

Depends if the Laramies have air suspension. Im on my 2nd Laramie with air suspension and am ruined on anything else. lol

Simply a ride quality question. Maybe got to creative with the title. :D

I test drove a Laramie with air suspension and really liked it. It was one option I really wanted. The Laramie I ultimately bought didn’t have it. I’ve been pleasantly pleased with how comfortable it is on all drives.

The more I researched the air suspension, I’m somewhat glad I didn’t get it. Some hefty bills if there are failures out of warranty.

Is the Laramie 4x2 or 4x4?

I'm more concerned with your plans and who it is you kidnapping!

I'd say the Rebel with Bilstein would be a slightly stiffer ride compared to plush of Laramie. I'm not sure 4X2/4X4 would come into play as much

I too would expect the Rebel to be not as smooth but by how much.
I prefer the overall look of the Rebel, but also prefer a nice riding truck.
The $10 question is :
Is the better aesthetics/styling/curb appeal of the Rebel enough to outweigh/justify/sacrifice the smoother/more comfortable ride of the Laramie?

It seems you really want the Rebel, I'd bite the bullet and go that route.

Everyone has their own idea of what's good/bad. Bilstein 5100, I think they ride great, others say they're harsh. Go test drive both and you'll know.

I owned a 2020 Laramie 4x4 when my daughter owned a 2019 Rebel 4x4. While the Laramie did have a smoother ride, the ride in the Rebel was still very nice until the tires were about half worn. It’s my opinion that the 10 ply tires are the main reason the Rebel’s ride is not quite as smooth as a Laramie. If I wanted a Rebel because I preferred how it looks versus the Laramie, but wanted it to have a smoother ride, I’d get a Rebel and switch to lower ply tires.

An 18” tire will be noticeably more comfortable than a 20 or 22 of the same style.
