Thinking about some maintenance mods. Things like the Pacbrake Oil filter relocation and Fumoto Drain valve. Been hearing mixed thoughts on the Oil Filter relocation with oil pressure drop. Can anyone provide me with some concrete evidence to NOT do either of these mods? Or maybe alternative manufacturers that may be better?
THANKS!!

i think i've read somewhere that someone said something about Fumoto valve leaking or something, but personally I got over 54k miles on my truck, including a lot of miles of high speed offroad runs that create a lot of vibration, and not a single drop of oil leaked. Also did multiple oil change for customers with the valves and never had an issue at all.

I believe people who say "it leaks" are due to installer/ user error:
1. the blue tab that holds the valve wasn't installed back - this is common because I've had outside tech forgot to put it back in and I had to remind him
2. the valve was not torqued down properly

If there's really one thing I must complain (which I am NOT), is the valve actually makes oil drain a lot slower just because it's more limiting than the stock drain plug design. Not an issue for me, since it also gives me time to check brakes, tire pressures, and visual inspections on other parts.

I've had the Pacbrake Oil Filter Relocation Kit on my '24 Laramie for ~2.5 years now (the newer blue O-rings updated version) and love it! It makes changing oil filters so quick, easy, and mess free now. I sealed every thread with Loktite Thread Sealer and it has been 100% leak free.
I also added the Fumoto Drain Valve at the same time and it also makes draining oil quick, easy, and mess free..plus no tools needed. I have the short ripple version to avoid hitting the sway bar. An added plus is that mine came with a quick clip on hose so I can start/stop the flow to take my Blackstone Oil Sample with ease. My truck is high enough that I can change the oil and filter easily now without ramps or anything.
I've used Fomoto Valves on every vehicle I've owned (dozens..three right now) over the last ~30 years..I've never once had one leak oil.
Nobody enjoys messy oil changes, these two pieces make it so much easier and mess free. Now if I could figure out an easy tire rotation hack..oh yeah, that would be a hydraulic lift!! This is the year!

I have the fumoto valve. I have the 90 degree swivel version. My only complaint is that, at some time, the sway bar hit it and bend the arm to open/close the valve. I bent it back to get it to work but it's not perfect. Also it's easy to not get it fully closed, espeyif you don't use the plastic clip that holds it closed. I did that once and ended up with 1/2 qt of oil on my garage floor before I caught it. As long as I make sure the valve is closed, I've had no issues without using the blue clip to keep it closed.

I do not, and can't, use the PAC Brake filter relocation. When I added the as aftermarket front bumper, ai didn't like the frame horns hanging down that the AAD bolted to and where Pac Brake uelses to mount the filter adapter. So it won't work for me. There really isn't that much of a mess from oil draining. I use the larger SRT filter. Crack the seal and let it drain and it mostly hits the pan. Then when it starts to drip, amI unscrew it the rest of the way and drop it out the bottom. It's a tight fit, but works with tweaking a bracket for a wiring harness for the axle disconnect. then I just use some brake cleaner and a rag to wipe up the small amount of oil that spilled out.
