Ram Expands 10-Year/100,000-Mile Powertrain Warranty Across Entire 2026 Lineup

What Ram’s 10-Year/100,000-Mile Powertrain Warranty Covers and Why It Matters for Truck Buyers

Ram is doubling down on long-term durability and customer confidence by extending America’s best full-size truck and van limited powertrain warranty across the entire 2026 model year. The move expands the brand’s 10-year/100,000-mile limited powertrain warranty to cover all eligible 2026 Ram trucks and vans sold in the United States and Canada—excluding full battery-electric vehicles.

10-Year Powertrain Coverage Now Spans The Entire 2026 Lineup North Of The Border

Yesterday, we talked about how the Ram brand raised the bar by expanding its 10-Year/100,000-Mile Limited Powertrain Warranty across its U.S. lineup. Well, it didn’t take long for Canada to follow suit — and in true Ram fashion, it’s doing so with numbers that matter to truck and van buyers north of the border.

I read this article, and I can't help feeling like it is just a sales ploy. If long-term ownership is really that important to Ram, why not extend it to all original owners of DT Rams (2019+)? There are enough stories of DT owners needing repairs shortly after the warranty has run out, why not show them their business is valued? And while Ram is at it, how about establishing a true network of service facilities with adequate staffing and parts stock? A ten year warranty means zilch to me if I can't get a repair completed for weeks or even months.

There are many things that Ram could do to bolster their standing in the market. Regarding the 10yr/100k warranty, it should not be used as merely an incentive for the buyer. Rather be strapped to the vehicle for as long as it falls with the parameters no matter how many have owned the truck.

Doubling down? For my 2014 I could (and did) get an unlimited (miles and time) extended warranty. For my 2020 the longest was 7 years / unlimited miles. Now the longest is 150,000 miles I believe.

This tells you all you need to know about how Ram views its own reliability.
