After 4 years and 40 thousand miles in the Rebel I have mixed, but generally positive views of the truck (5.7 e-torque).

The performance of the truck leaves me wanting nothing, and its a very good looking truck too. Whether I'm on a 3,000 mile road trip out west, daily driving to work, picking my way through a heavy snow storm, or doing 200 mile weekend runs pulling the boat, the truck performs perfectly and is the nicest and most comfortable cab I've ever owned (I've owned 6 trucks since the late 90s). Even after four years its a nice cab to climb into, every time.

I had a few problems right out of the gate that were bad but certainly manageable, any decent service department should've been able to resolve them with the customer being happy, but the local dealer dropped the ball so badly each time I had to deal with them that they may be the reason I don't buy another Ram.

I had to buy my truck during COVID, so there was no "buying what you want", you had to take what you could get, if you could get anything at all. That's why I ended up with an e-torque. I really, really, REALLY hated the idea of auto start/stop. I've driven maybe three or four cars with it, from Caddies to Hondas, and they all sucked. I have to give Ram credit though, they did a helluva job with that system. It is by far the nicest I've had experience with, I don't even notice it anymore. I wouldn't want another e-torque, simply because its not what I'd have chosen to begin with, but my life with it this far has been unaffected by it. Its been flawless.

Every truck is a compromise, and this one is no different. It does some things well at the expense of others, but as long as you weigh those out ahead of time, and you have a decent dealer in your town, I think most people would love the truck. I loved...LOVED the truck when I got it, but now I just like it, and mostly bc of the dealer experience.
