Hello everyone,

I got a 5th gen 2023 RAM 1500 Limited with optional towing side mirrors (the ones that flip 90 degrees). Although they are foldable, heated, got blind spot alert and cameras I find them pretty bad when driving when it's dark as everyone behind me is lasering my eyes because these mirrors are not dimmable as the interior ones are.

I was wondering if I can easily switch to "normal" ones with all the options I got + dimming without any issues of missing wires in my harness. Is there any way to check and make sure my harness have that option before I buy a set of mirrors?

Thanks!

The wiring should be there if you replace the entire mirror assembly. I'm surprised the drivers not dimmable at least. You sure you have the setting correct? You can test it by placing some dark tape over the mirror sensor on the front of the mirror. It will go dim with the truck running and the headlights on.

I was planning to buy a new set of mirrors, smaller ones. Got the setting on in the system for the interior mirror and it dims when it gets dark and someone is driving behind me, I can clearly see (or not see in this case :D) that there's a difference in lights behind me between exterior and interior mirrors.
