Are you pulling into the garage or backing in?
I back in and when facing away from the garage it does seem to have a much shorter range. I need to pull very close for it to work but when facing the garage it I'll work 30' away.

Mine will open the garage door when I turn the corner which is approximately 1000'. Can't complain.

It’s the CME’s, man

Realize that it might be your garage door opener receiver that is the issue. Just a possibility. I have had to replace my receiver boards in both my garage door openers over the last few years. I originally thought it was my transmitter but no.

I've got several fixtures containing LED lights scattered about my garage overhead. My two garage doors are a LOT less sensitive to signal when the lights are turned on. With lights off, my doors will open way down the street, but with all lights turned on I've got to get right up next to the garage doors. The lights apparently interfere, with the effect being loss of sensitivity.

I blame the RAM transmitter. My Tacoma would work on my openers in front of my neighbors house. Same day i sold the Tacoma and brought home the RAM I noticed the huge reduction in range. Only thing that changed was the truck. I even extended the antenna wires to help the range. Small improvement, still not what I had before.
