I am going on a road trip this Christmas and would like to load our luggage in the bed of the Ram. Obvious issue being that it will slide all over the place when I brake or take curves. I don't think I'm quite ready to spend so much on a modular bed cargo system like the TMat. Can anyone suggest options to secure the luggage in the bed?

Sorry for the probably obvious question. I'm a new truck owner and have never even thought about this issue before.

I've got a ratcheting bar (something similar to the link below)in my bed to keep things from shifting. It works reasonably well,, is easily removable, and cheap when compared to the Tmat. I use a storage box to put all my work stuff (survey equipment, work boots, safety vest, hard hat, etc) in and the bar to keep the box towards the gate so it's accessed easily. Get a boathook to grab items that have escaped towards the bed.

Thanks, I saw this earlier today after I posted while I was looking for options. Might be what we need for now.

I have two of the ratcheting bars. Can basically create three separate sections to keep **** from moving around in the bed
I also use 2 ratchetings bars. Quick, easy, and inexpensive. The best part is the flexibility you have for sizing (front to back). I use mine mainly to keep storage bins in the bed. Used a Gray sharpie to outline where the bars go for the totes so if i remove them, I know exactly where they go without measuring or guessing.

That's better than spending $300+ for plastic ones for sure.

Yeah but there’s almost no slot in the RAM bed, and they are curved, and only in the front which is ok for my needs. Anyone make one and like it?
