Front diff swap/regear

I’m pretty mechanically inclined, I mean, I did everything up front. I’ve never done a diff swap, but it doesn’t seem crazy. Not sure I’d feel comfortable with the rear regear.

I finally found a shop that sounds like they know what theyre doing. They said they can do complete carrier swap and regear to either 4.10s or 3.92. Now it all just comes down to price. If they’re pretty similar, I wouldn’t mind 4.10s, but I won’t lose sleep if 3.92 is a lot cheaper. Afterall, I have 3.21 right now. Lol
anything is an improvement over 3.21

i know i know those are fighting words but I said what I said hahahah

Not for me! I hate the 3.21s lol
Since you are familiar with shops, and I understand its region specific, but what would your ballpark price of being fair be for swapping front differential and regearing the rear?

Havent figured out logistics of if 4.10 make more sense than 3.92 so Im only looking foe the labor of the swaps and the rear regear.
I have ideas in my head, but wanted to get some thoughts before i get shellshocked. Haha

Ok. I’ve decided on 3.92 and ordered the differential. Chose nitro 3.92 gears for the rear vs yukon, as i read yukon only makes a 3.90 for the 9.25 and they don’t seem to last.

just updating here

New mopar front differential carrier installed. Nitro 3.92 gears installed.
Now just break in. Already got 100 miles down and have really noticed a ton.

Dont let anyone tell you 35s run great on tve 3.21s. Its false.

They actually run better on the 5th gen then 4th gen since they made the transmission gearing changes. Is 3.92 better, of course, but trust me the 5th gen and 3.21 is much better then 4th gen.

Btw what did they charge for the rear re-gear?

650 in labor to do the rear.

Only got 150 miles on it so far but night and day.
I’m sure I would have been ok witb the 3.21s but it just felt luggy and like it struggled from stop to go. I’m not even pushing it and it feels more natural and like the power is back.

That's not too bad. I'd still love to swap, but honestly, probably never will.

Now grab the Edge Pulsar piggyback for tuning, unless you have a warranty. Only canned tunes, but wakes up the Hemi also.

Dude. Its so doable. New front diff from BAM is like 800 after 250 core. Its soooo doable. Just gotta find someone that will do it. Lol.

Pulsar. Hmmmm. Warranty. Yea right. 6 inch lift.

I would LOVE to swap to 4.10 or 4:30 gears, but hate axle gear whine and no one seems to put in the work to set up gears correctly anymore🙁

New diff come with CV or re-use old?
You can re-use old. I put on the trakmotive ones a while ago though. Diff doesnt come with them

I was quoted 3600 for 4.10s. But it was around 1500 less for 3.92s total. I didn’t feel like the price was worth it in my circumstance.

Are you anywhere near NE Ohio? Akron to be exact. This guy does AMAZING.

West of Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
My 285/60R20 drops my 3.92 down to 3.74 and the 4.10 gear would put me back at 3.92 again.
