What do you permanently store in your lower door pocket?

thanks soo much for all this feedback friend.
In reply, my inserts are closed cell EVA foam, density 40, which is like what's used in higher end packaging for electronics.
I love your idea about the center console, that's brilliant. Sometime in the future I'd like to expand into center consoles but right now we're just focused on doors and the Big 3 automaker's pickups.
Follow-up question: do you take your 2a out of its ccw position when you drive? if so, where does it go?
thanks again so much for your time my friend

Gloves. A couple of those mega twisty ties, extra pair of socks, a collapsable dog bowl and some doo doo bags all in the rear doors. Nothing up front
Extra pair of socks is downright brilliant.
You're the first person to say that, and to mention the mega twisty ties. I want to accomodate sizing, so do these look like the ones you use by chance?
Last question I promise: if you had to describe the reason you don't like stuff in the driver's door, would you say it's about the rattling, that you want it to look cleaner/neater, or that you just prefer it empty for another reason?
Thanks again so much this kind of feedback in extremely valuable my friend

Thanks so much for this. So these all stay in your driver's door permanently or semi-permanently?

Can I ask if you keep plastic disposable water bottles? or do you prefer an insulated Yeti-type cannister?
yup keep plastic disposable water bottles.
in fact we currently have 5 in the truck

don't care what the "experts" say we are healthy

It stays on my hip at 3 o'clock when driving. Removing it is illegal in some states but not mine. The patchwork is annoying but that is a different (big and long) discussion.

I do make sure my cover shirt/vest is not caught in the seatbelt, my carry is available and on me. I have only drawn twice, once for aggressive dogs. The other time was when I got road-raged. My phone got lost somewhere in the car in the final rollover, I was drawing when I figured out the two people approaching my vehicle were not whoever put me in the situation. So I pushed it back into the holster and secured the backstrap, then directed them to get a door open so I could get out.

Oh wow that's insane; thanks so much for sharing and I'm logging all of this! Glad you made it out alive with an accident that bad man.
Last question, (again for sizing), if you don't mind telling me your carry model and whether you run it OWB or IWB at 3 o clock?

I keep a couple bottles of water and a soft flannel rag. The rag is because it always seems like the day after I clean the windows, I see a streak inside. In the totally useless pocket on the side of the console, I found a spare covid mask.
Awesome thank you so much for this feedback my friend

Those are pretty much the ties i have.
Front stays empty because of ocd and clutter.

Stock foam bottle insert.

I don’t like the look of a bunch of stuff visible in the door pockets and it would drive me nuts to hear stuff rattle in them. I have had a tube style tissue container in the foam bottle insert from time to time.

I keep a first aide kit under/behind the rear seat on the drivers side and an air hose for under hood compressor under/behind the rear passenger seat. Everything else goes in the two glove boxes and center console.

I have a locker’ down safe in the console and that’s where I’d put my carry gun if I were to leave it in the truck. When carrying, the pistol is on my person 99% of the time.

I have 2 swing cases in the bed for tools and such.

Thank you so much for taking the time to give me this reply, it's really helpful.
When you're carrying ccw and you go from on-foot into the vehicle, does your 2a stay in its holster while driving?
Thank you again!

OWB in a Mitch Rosen leather holster with thumb break, Springfield Armory EMP, 9mm 1911 with ambidextrous safety, Trijicon sights. Two magazines OWB on the off side, same leather crafter. My belt is a Bullhide steel core piece. I have been through a good half dozen different carries and rigs over the years, lots of details went into developing this as a solution for my needs. If you are going down such a path, main thing is to not buy crap.

Some rough idea of the size:

Excuse the dust and scratches, this is a daily piece. I also compete with my carry guns, it is an activity which shakes out all sorts of issues one might never think of, and builds good habits.

I use a lot of blaze defense products and love their small fire suppression stuff. So i keep one in my door as well as a tq and some leather work gloves and an emergency window brake hammer.

I am considering one of these:

Unfortunately not UL certified as the UL certification just does not have a way to evaluate them (it does not fit into any of the tests they have due to the way the tests were written, because the test writers had no though there might be a different way.
