I have been sending in oil samples for my last two oil changes on my 2020 1500 with the 5.7 Hemi with 55k miles. Both samples show elevated iron in the oil on 5k mile oil changes using Pennzoil Platinum 5W-20. My 5 year 60k mile warranty runs out at the end of this month. I have been talking to my dealer and they really don't know who at Stellantis that they could send my info to so they could determine if anything is wrong or going to fail in my engine. Very disappointed with Ram that I can't get any answers. Any suggestions on what I should do?

From the report: "perhaps at a steel-on-steel interface like the cam/lifters" and "Listen for ticking sounds"
That would be my first guess, that a lifter may be starting to abrade its cam lobe as the roller bearings slowly fail over time.

Lifters, piston bores, and the oil pump are top sources of iron in the oil just off the top of my head. The best you may be able to do is provide proof of the tests and ask for an inspection in warranty. Odds are no failure will be detected, but at least it gets a record of a concern if a failure occurs soon. It might be worth something. You will need proof of all oil changes done on time to date, with the right oil and filters.

I suspect the so-called RamCares folks will not be of any real help, but you can invoke them by making a post with an "@" before this account name. In theory they are the to help owners, in practice they are geared more to getting conversation off of any public forum and have no demonstrated real authority. This is something I would love to see them actually prove me wrong, this is one of the forums where there are at least hints of positive interactions.

I have on rare occasions had some benefit of warranty outside of the letter of the contract, documentation can be a big benefit for this.

I don’t quite understand the @ before this account name. Could you explain it a little further?
