Hello. I need to drop the pan on a 2019 5.7 4wd rebel. After a lot of searching i have learned that the from diff has to be removed or possibly pryed away to remove the pan. For those of you that have attempted to drop the pan without moving the diff, can you tell me if the pan lowered enough to access the rod bearings leaving the pan hanging? Can i move it side to side enough to access the rod bolts? My pan is fine so no need to replace it.
Sharing any actual experience would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Brett

Do a search, there was someone describing what had to be loosened/disconnected without removing the differential.

edit: "
It took a couple of days but I managed to get the oil pan changed out. A couple of notes for someone wanting to tackle this job.

1. The diff definitely needs to come out and since the diff removal removes the drivers side engine mount, its lets you move the engine up a bit too making it even easier to get the oil pan in and out.
2. Your CV shafts are going to be seized on to the diff. The drivers side comes out with the intermediate shaft which is replaceable if you ever need to replace the CV shaft. But the passengers side is on a shaft that is not designed to be removed from the diff. The dealer's solution is to replace the diff with the passengers CV shaft, some will stock an aftermarket rebuild kit for those outside of warranty. I was able to slide the whole diff out with the CV shaft on and then reinstall it the same way when I was done.

There's no need to pull the diff. The diff will flex off the engine mount if you remove the 2 bolts on the right side that hold the axle housing and remove 3 bolts on the left side that hold the diff housing to a flat metal bracket. Last step is to loosen 2 bolts about 1/4" that fasten the diff housing to the engine mount. This will give you enough flexibility to pry down on the right side of the diff-axle assembly to pull the pan. It's only about 30-40min of extra work."

Thanks for the reply. As i stated in my post I have searched and i am aware of the post you speak of hence me mentioning prying the diff out of the way to DROP the pan. What i cant find in a search is if i can unbolt the pan and move it left, right or down to access the rod bolts without actually getting the pan on the floor. All posts i read are to replace plan, I do not need to.
