Upgrade attempt from 8.4 to 12

Good afternoon and thank you for the add.
I have a 2020 Ram 1500 Laramie, it came with the stock 8.4" and it has most of the screen delaminated and it is difficult to see at times, other than that the unit works perfect. I have wanted to upgrade to a 12" screen and this past weekend purchase a unit with the module, I have installed this and not all functions work. The volume and tuner knobs do not work, I have to use the steering controls to navigate, Android Auto does not work, for the phone the only thing that works is the phone when plugged in, it will blue tooth and play music but that is all. I went to the drive uconnect . com and the site says the software is up to date. Please someone help. Did I just spend $900 on something that I can't use? Thanks in advance.

I have discussed this with the dealership and the want $209 per hour and can't give me any idea of the cost or if they can update so the unit works correct.

Have you made the appropriate changes to the BCM using alfaobd or jscan?

Might also need to upgrade the firmware.

There are many many threads on this forum describing and solving the exact same problem. I've made the upgrade, it's worth the effort. Keep searching. I don't recall the solution as my problems were different but have been solved by this forum.
