Does anyone like the new 2025+ tow mirrors?

Considering a new Ram with the tow package, which I don't need or want, but I got a good price and it has all the other options I want. My only issue is the actual tow mirrors. I had them on my last Ram and hated them. I haven't seen anything but complaints about the new ones, mostly from people who aren't towing and complain of a blind spot. To me they actually seem to have enhanced visibility and lighting. I acknowledge the blind spot is probably there based on where you sit. The one I am considering is too far away so I haven't test driven one with these mirrors yet as my local dealer doesn't have them. Anyone actually like them for non-towing, day-to-day? I will not tow almost ever so I don't need them. Would it make you not buy a truck that is a great deal? I know I can switch them but don't want to lose functionality or deal with this on a new truck. Thanks.

So if you're getting a 1500 with the tow package but you don't actually need to tow anything that heavy... you're sacrificing the rear end ride, the increased maintenance costs around the tow package rear end (especially if you're not towing enough weight for it to matter) and the 3.92 rear end ratio for even worse MPG. I would suggest waiting for one that has all the things you want minus a big thing like the tow package unless MPG and increased maintenance costs don't matter or you plan on picking up some heavier duty stuff to tow.

If you buy a truck with those mirrors you will have to look at them every day, and if it bothers you enough you might want to find a truck without them or order the exact truck you want. In the end it doesn't matter if we could live with tow mirrors that we don't fully utilize, what does matter is if you can live with them or not.

It is a Rebel so it already has 3.92. MPG will be same except for the tow technology.

I am getting a very good deal on this one which is driving this. Ideally I would get the exact options I want. For a 23% off MSRP at a promotional interest rate, I may make a concession for the tow package.

All I've read from reviews is that some people find them harder to look past at certain spots than the standard mirrors. They would also have more wind resistance (affecting mpg) than normal mirrors but who could measure that accurately, I'm sure that's not a problem if you're in a rebel anyway.

I would probably purchase them on my next truck.

Sorry, my bad. I misunderstood what you were asking. You definitely want mirrors you can use. I haven't seen much about them, nor have I read complaints on them. But now you have me wondering too lol. I wasn't even aware they redesigned them.

I really like them. They provide a wider view behind me and the covex mirrors can be adjusted independently from the drivers seat. The passenger side mirror definitely causes a large blind spot when looking to the right, especially at an intersection. I wish they were power folding and extension/retraction. I tow a 22’ travel trailer and the mirrors provide a nice view behind me when extended.

Power fold mirrors are a big deal for us. Having them means we can park in the garage along side the Grand Cherokee lol. It looks like you get power folding tow mirrors on higher trim levels, according to the Ram build website.

I found a couple trucks optioned the way I wanted aside from the tow mirrors and considered them because the price was 2-3k better than same equipped trucks with regular mirrors.

I had decided that I was going to buy a set of regular mirrors and swap them then I found a truck without them for the price I wanted to pay.

My neighbor actually purchased a 2025 Laramie 1500 with the new tow mirrors right after I purchased my Limited. I converted him from Ford by the way

However, he got the truck from the lot and it came with the large tow mirrors which he has complained about the blind spots they create. I believe he is shopping for the standard mirrors now. He does tow a boat but sounds like the added help with towing is negated by the difficulty of vision driving without the boat..

I would drive it and see if its something that will bother you. They are very large...

Drove a 25 Rebel with tow mirrors while shopping for current truck. Didn't like them at all. For me, huge blind spot. I do tow (car carrier) occasionally, but the blind spot wasn't worth the larger, extendable tow mirrors.

They do have a huge blind spot that I notice mostly at a four-way stop. They took a while to get used to, but now it is muscle memory to lean forward and back to see around the blind spot at an intersection. I live in a rural area without many intersections, so it isn't too bad on a daily basis. I have to be more cautious when driving in a city.

When on a highway and changing lanes, I have to use both the top and bottom driver's side mirrors to see if there is a vehicle next to me. The passenger's side top mirror appears magnified, and it seems like a vehicle behind me is closer to me than it actually is. The wide-view bottom mirror works fine. So my only real complaint with the tow mirrors is the passenger's side top mirror's magnification.

A#1 Get REBEL LEVEL 2 PACKAGE for the power folding tow mirrors, proximity locks, rain sensing wipers, and some other bells/whistles I’m constantly kicking myself for not getting. A#2 Get the larger gas tank.

To answer your question, the tow mirrors are ok, but you do have to lean forward and back at all stops to look around the blind spots - which I got used to. Again though, my regret is not getting power folding.

I’ve had my new 2025 Ram Bighorn truck for a month now, and I don’t see myself ever getting comfortable with my tow mirrors. Passenger side the biggest concern. I would like to swap with anyone for their standard mirrors. That is if you don’t mind manual fold in mirrors.

"dumbo ears" haha. I'd still get them, but they're definitely function over form. I'm just tired of clipping those silly amazon specials over my mirrors whenever I tow which is quite frequently.
