Tailgate remote

I have a 2023 ram limited. I have a standard tailgate with remote tailgate release. I changed out the tailgate with a multi function tailgate. Everything works but the in truck tailgate release and the remote tailgate release. Can someone point me in the right direction to get this fixed.

It's probably a matter of programming. Consult a dealer or if you are Tech savvy look into alphaobd, an after market app, and program yourself.

My 20 Rebel has no button on the factory fob but after having my Compustar remote start unit installed from my old truck, the trunk button on the Compustar opens the tailgate just through the Compustar vehicle specific t-harness. Never even knew it until I accidentally held the trunk button for 3 seconds and the tailgate dropped. Bonus.

All I did was get some 2x2x1/4 flat stock and ordered 2 new striker pins. Measured from the back of the bed to the center of the striker hole. Then from the back of the tailgate to the center of the striker latch. You can see the brackets that I made in a earlier post.
