Installing a XK Glow tailgate light bar on 2024 Ram 1500 Limited - not touching the tail light wiring till I know which wires to slice into from the light bar. Shop wants $125, phony on that!! Going to use t-tap splicers. Any help would be appreciated, wiring diagram for this truck, which wire is this. Thank!

normally they are plug and play. i would not "t-tap" anything unless your going to solder and shrink so it's waterproof.

Just use a trailer wiring harness pigtail. This way you aren't open to issues with your factory wiring.

Grab the harness for plug n play into the trailer wiring behind bumper

Only problem with that is the trailer the existing plug on the light bar is too short. I'm not quite sure what you mean they plug and play trailering wiring behing the bumper but that sure sounds like a better option than t taps or soldering into the actual tail light wiring. Could you help out a newbie with some more info please? Thank you.

Something like this:

Something like this. It mounts behind the bumper for the 7 pin

Ok…thanks for the advice folks. This is what opt-7 had to say. (Short version- the 7 pin plug and play adapter won’t work. Looks like a hard wire job coming up.

Nice, doesn't work, but doesn't say why. I wonder why it won't work. Buy on Amazon and if doesn't work, return it. I'm using a splitter like that ( not exact company ) for my camper top 3rd brake light.

My guess…and it’s only a guess is that it registers as a trailer and you are towing when plugged into the 7 pin.

It should sense the difference I would think, but I would still grab from Amazon in case. No issues with mine plugged in between like that.

Just a heads up, if you do it, Disconnect holder from bumper and pull out and connect. It was hard to get them disconnected and tire and hitch is in the way.

What year is yours? In my mind the only wire I should have to connect (others than the 4 pin already on the light bar) is the reverse

Mine is a 19. Unless some changes were made...I'd still attempt the harness, worse case you take off and send back.
