I have wanted a winch bumper for years for this truck, and finally found a justification. But the cost for ready to mount bumpers is wild, so I started looking. I have built a kit of theirs in the past for a 96' Bronco, but it was a base model and didn't have any grill guard or winch mount. I could not find any pictures of a similar MOVE bumper on a 5th gen, so here you go!

This is the classic, full grill, 2" tubing upgrade, winch mount, HD upgrade. was looking g for a Trailready lookalike, and I'm not disappointed. I suck at welding, and took my time, and then took it to Line-X for sand blasting and coating. I am beyond happy. I did make a few modifications:

-I purchased extra 3/16" strap to close the back of the grill uprights, as the kit leaves them open
- I mounted the winch plate in the vertical position, but attached it to the top of the bumper versus the bottom as shown in the instructions. I did this because with my winch, I can simply rotate it 90° and still have it spool properly, with ample clearance. I did have to modify the logo, but function>form

Here's the cost breakdown:
Bumper kit, on sale- $990
Shipping to IL- $150
Sandblasting and Line-X - $630

I also had to buy a GF Titanium welder, hood, Supplies, etc that came to around $600

Would I do it again? 100%, especially if you aren't in a rush, or actually know what you are doing

UPDATE: still love this thing, but have run into a problem that I was afraid of. The location of the middle bar on the headlight portion almost completely blocks view of the turn signal. I had considered moving the bar lower, but everyrhing was laser cut 3/16 and already located. This has created a few instances of near misses, head on, so I will be adding additiom turn signals somewhere. Or possibly new headlights? I cant think of any non-halogen with a higher mounted turn signal. Anyone have suggestions in either direction?

I'd be wary of using the winch to do any serious work. Those factory bumper mounts weren't designed for that, especially with the weight of the bumper. The shop that made my bumper added extra bracing that bolts to the factory tow hook mounts. Said to not use the winch unless those were installed.
