So I've been having the normal CAN bus issues for couple months. flashing odometer, check engine light. Stop reset, give couple days and it resets. I checked code and shows MY24 was last update of software and dealer first told me new software is in process. Then I gave him the full story.

Last week was hot in MI and while driving lost full display, AC, rear camera link, and funny the window switches stopped and mirrors folded in. WHILE DRIVING. It was 95F and without AC and any chance to open windows the situation went bad pretty fast. I think maybe more than the display is gone, so I finally pushed and got into dealer this morning.

On way to dealer, a funny message popped up and it stayed there the whole time and the service advisor was impressed...he hadn't seen that one. He plugged into OBD and had 2 pages or codes.

I pushed for real this time. I've never had any issues of this sort in over 15 Jeep/Ram/Chrysler/Dodge vehicles. The rear camera outage is a safety issue for sure. The AC shutdown and window lock in 95F while driving is really outside my scope. I trust this dealership group to do the right thing. I will update. It seems to happen more often when hot ambient outside. Anyone see this before? Any experience?

I live in south Georgia so yeah, it's hot. On two separate occasions lately my screen when into lockout mode. The first day it would come back on only after stopping. While driving there was nothing I could do. The second day it went into lockout and stayed that way. I'm thinking it was the heat as well.

Dealer had the truck from Monday to Thursday this week. Called me to confirm they drove it 18 miles (I knew that) and they could not duplicate concern. Interesting.

I showed up Thursday at end of day controlling my frustration to pick up my truck....took a while to get it, because the driver got in and the odometer was flashing and more error codes. So I left it again. Now it's Friday and I'm told they can't trace all the error codes. No solutions!!??

I asked if they created a STAR case. WE'RE IN METRO DETROIT!! HQ IS RIGHT UP THE STREET!! If the dealer won't fix it I'll contact the leaders from engineering and supplier quality that I work with (not my parts failing!) and try to get some momentum.

Is RAM CARES still on this forum?? A lack of rear camera display seems to be a safety issue, no? And shutting down AC and disabling window switches? In middle of summer while driving?

Will update on progress. For now frustration.

To confirm, my primary dealer (out of area) went out of way to come get my truck for service. Anyone that is having similar issues take note: there is a CAN BUS master unit under driver seat that was my culprit. Apparently I had a loose connection that eventually came off and sent system crazy.

The service team diagnosed via codes, had several paths they followed and corrected situation. Test drives local to them and 200 miles back to me confirmed all issues resolved. I truly thought this would be a NTF after 1st dealer had 2 weeks to find this issue. I have cautious faith in the system as of now.

Look at my post yesterday - right rear tail light full of water - causes a short and does exhibits all of these symptoms. I have jt all on video and posted on my FB - Kurt Baugher you’ll find me.

I joined this forum just to share it. I camt get the videos up here.

Take the right rear tail light out - remove the 4 screws in the middle - aluminum housing which is the blind spot sensor - remove it and drain the water.
