Anybody else have a dealership tell you to use insurance when their caulk job failed to seal the rear window? When the dealership told me that I immediately called ram customer care and they told me the exact same thing.

There's a TSB for issues with leaking. I just commented on another post earlier today.
You are correct, I printed it off and showed it to them. They gave me the same response, use insurance. Ram claims that the warranty extension does not include replacement.

Ummm that's how a warranty works. Sounds like time to talk to a lawyer. Many have had them replaced. They want you to just walk away. I'd push back.

RAM CARES PLEASE READ THIS !
they were replacing them, i believe after thousands of replacements they stopped.
my dealer was going to replace then they changed to reseal. it's BS. the window frame was cracked that was the leak.
is it really worth losing repeat customers over this RAM? pushing it off on insurance is a trash move. truly there is a HUGE profit margin on the trucks replacing the window is a small price to pay to keep customers buying your trucks. it's either your window supplier that made a substandard product or your assembly process that caused the issue. how has that become a problem for our insurance company's?
i was a chevy guy but i have had 3 ram's and 2 caravans, don't worry you won't ever have to deal with me again. Ford's looking better everyday.
RAM makes a nice truck but there is alot to be said for customer service and the way we get treated after buying big money 1500's is not good at all.
to name a few common issues-bubbling dashes, bad generator bearing's, cracking manifolds, driveshaft slip joint (really) and leaking windows on the back wall where the E-torque battery is and other expensive electronics.

Do you know if any of those people asked for reimbursement and were able to get it? This is the link I see in the warranty notification: http://www.fcarecallreimbursement.com/
Most of the people who have done this did it after the factory warranty expired. You won't be reimbursed by Ram if you swap to the solid rear window because your truck didn't originally come with that. Extended warranties don't cover this but some people have successfully negotiated replacement and received either partial coverage or they covered the whole thing after the factory warranty expired. But I suspect most of those were on the dealership's dime as goodwill fixes.

It's ridiculous how Ram has handled this fiasco, but not surprising. Good customer service isn't what Ram/Dodge/Stellantis are known for.

I am sorry this makes no sense. The warranty approach has changed to trying to caulk the window but the fix must be effective or the warranty extension is a dead letter.

What dealer is this? This is likely a breach of the contract between the dealer and Stellantis, and is likely a violation of standard consumer protection laws that exist in most states?

Provide the name of the dealer as that will provide more context as to what is going on.

Yea I had the same thing happen but the service tech said don't have us call the window you wouldn't like it. Turn it in to your insurance as broken window they don't come out and look at the window.

The replacement windows frame crack also, I had mine replaced under warranty and never opened it after that and it started leaking again, found the plastic frame was cracked in the corners, I just siliconed the whole window in the groove all around top and sides and haven't had an issue since, they must know the new windows are garbage also.

I got the same response from corporate, use insurance. The dealership finally agreed to caulk it again and it hasn't leaked yet, fingers crossed.

Interesting, I thought they re-engineered the windows...

I get it but that just feels wrong and they're just passing the buck onto someone else. There is 0 chance I'll take my own time and pay out of my own pocket for something that Stellantis told me flat out is covered by warranty.

I agree with you in spirit but unfortunately while you're fighting with Stellantis your window will be letting in water and causing damage if you don't do something yourself in the meantime.

Ended up going the silicone way after my under warranty replacement cracked in the corners. Two tubes at 8.50 each, lot cheaper than me wasting my time at the dealership.
