Power steering 2019 1500 Laramie

Any one out there that can tell me why my power steering would suddenly be unavailable? I recently had the battery sensor replaced and steering was working good until it just quit while I was driving. Seems that they should have something that won't allow it to just quit while your driving, pretty unsafe if you ask me. I'm thinking it is the sensor again but desperately looking for an answer before I take it to the dealer and get gouged! I have a 2019 Laramie

There was a safety recall way back when. A poor ground connection could intermittently cause the power steering to malfunction. Might be worth looking at the battery ground connections.
