I posted earlier about the amount of dust that gets sucked into the bed. I have noticed that that same problem happens in the jams of the back doors, and have seen other posts about this. My question is, has there been a fix? I have not seen a definitive fix. If I open the back doors after travelling down a dirt road, which is 10 miles minimum each day, I will get a cloud of dust that goes in the cab and covers everything, if I am not slow and careful. I have contacted the dealer and they are "looking into it". I have driven trucks since 1979 and have had all the big three and one Toyota, and this is a first of a dust problem.

my buddies dad on his 96,98 dodge he put foam tape between the bed and the tail gate , that thick stuff you use for making the house as tight as you can for heat loss, in winter or summer.

That is a great idea. Thank you. I was using foam pipe insulator, cutting it in 3rds length ways and sticking them in place. But that idea is better. It will form and stay in place.

You can also get the below kit specifically to seal the tailgate. This looks like it's very similar to the general weatherstripping.

I have a cap on my truck and after driving about 15 miles at 30 mph on a dusty gravel road I expected to see a lot of dust inside my bed. The bumper, tailgate, and cap window were covered in dust but inside was dust free. I guess the cap makes a difference. Just checked my door jambs and they were clean also.

it’s the opposite with a tonneau cover. The vacuum created I learned is the culprit. I am five miles off pavement so it’s a mess. I’ve learned to keep the cover rolled up until I hit pavement. That makes a difference. The back doors however are another thing. If I dont open them slowly, I get a dirt cloud that goes right into the cabin.
