Strut and Shock Replacement

I am changing the struts and shocks on my 2019 Ram 1500 RWD. The vehicle has 114k miles on it and the truck is riding a little rougher than it used to. I just order Bilstein 4600 struts and shocks. Any other parts I should change, especially on the struts?

Look at the coil isolators being worn and I personally would change them. Top hats/ Strut mounts. Check the rest of your suspension bushings, tie rods, balljoints, rear control arms etc. I just went thru and changed all mine since I plan to keep it for a good 3-4 years, possibly more, plus I added a lift kit.

The truck’s been feeling a bit rough on the road lately with around 90k miles on it, so I’m thinking about replacing the struts and shocks. I’m leaning toward Bilstein 5100s for better ride quality and performance. Has anyone made this upgrade on a similar Ram 2500? Also, are there any other components I should be replacing while doing the suspension—like sway bar links or control arms? Any advice would be really helpful before I get started. Appreciate it!

Do you have any experience with the Bilsteins? I have RWD, never go off road, and I'm really looking for comfort and stability at highway speeds. I got the Bilstein 4600s struts and shocks for under $300 total which seemed like a pretty good deal (TireRack.com had them on clearance). I have a friend that works at a repair facility and will swap the springs on the fronts for $100. Seems like cheap insurance to not have a spring fly across my garage.......

Bilstein are a great setup. but some claim them to be harsh. I personally like them. I always recommend them or Eibach.

I would make my life alot easier and just buy a completed strut assembly. You can add a little lift to the front or retain the stock height.
Then all you have to do is pull them out and install. The overall process to replace your front and rear becomes easier and all components are now new.
There are online retails that will build you an assembly with a new spring. There are also a few aftermarket versions of complete front struts available too.
