60k miles ago I gave up on the AT3wa that came with my '19 Ram 1500 ORP and went with the AT3w a little apprehensively given my AT3wa experience, but the "W" variant has been an awesome tire. Unfortunately they've discontinued them, and I'm not sure the "new and improved" AT4 is what I'm looking for. I've read through a bunch of posts and completed a few searches but after reading so many figured another wouldn't hurt
. So if you have any experience, thoughts, or have done this search yourself recently I'd appreciate if you'd take a few minutes of your time and share your conclusions.
The important data:
'19 Ram 1500, ORP
18" rims
air suspension
Leveling kit (spacer in front, plus adjustable link rods)
New England; I do a fair amount of driving in the snow, some mild "off-roading" (site work around the farm), and pulling trailers a few dozen times a year moving my tractor, skid steer, or other random cars or equipment around , not to mention dump trailer (11k+ tow capacity... and I use it).
Years ago I almost purchase the Cooper AT3 XLT, so I guess those are still in the running (they were unavailable last time around), but I'm curious what else is out there and what experience folks have had.
Right now I"m running the 275/70/18's (roughly 33's, same a stock on the Rebel). I'd go fro a "34" if I could find one. 35 would look great, but I worry about reducing my torque for towing and have to admit at this point in life they are less likely to be used to their potential than 20 years ago (more work and less play these days)
In order of priority:
Winter and wet traction
Reasonably quiet ride (these are AT tires...)
mud traction (I'm well aware the trade off of quiet vs. off-load traction...for this vehicle a quieter highway ride trumps mud)
Reasonable tread life (40-50k)
Thank you for any and all thoughts!
