Just curious, how many people have them in their trucks and what type ? And any good stories ?

I don't have a traditional dashcam, but my Comma acts as one. The only thing I recorded was a guy passing me in the shoulder and then immediately getting pulled over for doing it.

I have a "dual channel" (front and rear camera) in my truck - VIOFO A329 4K 60FPS Dash Cam Front and Rear, with a VIOFO HK4 Hardwire Kit. I had a dash camera in my previous car that I sold when I moved, and that one paid for itself when it proved the other person was at fault (rather than being 50/50) and thus I got my deductible back. I highly recommend everyone have a dash camera.

I wish I had a dash camera in my first car way back when, where someone hit my car in a parking lot and drove off.

FitcamX is a great option. Looks factory. Has a rear camera option. Powered from rear view mirror connector, so no wires to route unless you have rear cam. Phone app to view and download videos.

I had to look up the FitcamX because I haven't heard of it before. I think it's cool because it looks integrated, but I like the features of the VIOFO A329 and the corresponding hardwire kit better. I set up my dashcam on the passenger side up near the top of the windshield and rearview mirror, to where I almost can't see it when I'm driving. I also bought the VIOFO remote to easily toggle audio recording on and off.

Viofo A229 Pro - 2 channel (front and rear cams). Easy to install, easy to use, and interfaces easily to phone.
Given the way people
Have lost their minds in the roads , this is a must. “He said / she said” goes out the window when there’s video proof.

Turning audio off isn't really a concern for me. I'd rather have the audio, and no reason not to. I like the Fitcamx because it blends in and isn't obvious. Which is good, because then others don't suspect it. I've seen people change their behaviors when they see a dash cam in other vehicles. About the only thing Fitcamx doesn't have is the parking mode . but that's another feature that isn't a big deal for me.

A lot of people use the FitcamX. I have another vote for Viofo A229 Pro Duo. Great quality picture for both front and rear, easy to set up if you know how to tap a fuse and run wires along the headliner. Have one in both my truck and my wife's Traverse.
