2025 Ram 1500 Current Owners - Discussion, Feedback, and Problems

The better question for the forum is..............does this proximity feature work for anyone with who has it turned on in the settings menu? Like I said in another post, I rented a '25 Wagoneer and this feature, which was the same in the settings menu, worked flawlessly every time I approached the vehicle with the fob in my pocket.
Some people in the FB group I asked are saying it works while others are saying it does not. That is what I am trying to figure out... for the folks that it works for... are they the ones with the battery issues. And for those that this feature does not work, are we the ones without battery issues. So far its been mixed.

For the fob press only approach lights that don’t work, there’s a workaround. I dunno if it works with approach proximity:
Turn off engine.
Get out and close the door.
Press UNLOCK on the fob.
Press LOCK on the fob.
Lights will work next time.

In a couple weeks or so, my dealer will be doing a STAR case for it with my truck.
I’ll share results.

Note: I don’t have proximity detection

I'll try this when I leave work today... I imagine I need to walk away from the truck for a minute... then re-approach it.
You gotta do it after engine shutdown and walk away. I don’t *think* you’d have to wait, just get outta range.
Feel free to experiment😁

I don't know of anyone on this forum or have seen a post where the proximity feature works (Limited or Tungsten).
Correct me anyone is yours works having the feature on in the settings menu

No, but @dgrinstead44 said FB people either have it work and battery issues or not work and OK battery… maybe wish for the lesser of 2 evils until RAM figures it out

I’ve tried it a couple of times now doing what you said. No luck.
Strangely, when I did it from the passenger side, the running board deployed and stayed out even after I hit lock
Welp, thanks for being the guinea pig!
It does work for those of us without proximity though.

Yes my keys must be far far away in metal box or i will get a dead battery. My truck would turn lights off and on all the time when key was close.

So we have a confirmed case of proximity approach working?
The trucks are like old dial up internet. They don't always go to your profile so your approach light setting won't be on. When i start my truck for the day i put to acc for a min first so everything will talk to each other. Then i manually hit my profile after i start it. When i turn truck off keys must be far far away. Had same problems first couple hundred miles now with these steps its works correctly.

Have you tried deleting and making a new profile? Maybe it’ll stick then?

I noticed the red light on my fob a few times where it was blinking for no apparent reason. I.e. I didn't press a button.

I haven't noticed my truck lighting up when I approach, but I didn't know that was a thing. I'm going to have to check my settings and test it now.

What mileage were you getting before the JB4?

So FAR, I'm not worried about trying to get more power. But, if the JB4 would improve my mileage...
Hi Stuart; zero change in mileage with the JB4 tuner, assuming your driving habits have not changed before and after install. The JB4 does NOT impact MPG unless your foot is constantly into the accelerator. The tuner simply provides MORE boost to your turbos and dials everything else in for optimum performance. The HO with the JB4 is a beast......hands down.

Well, for ME, that definitely means I'd be getting worse mileage... My foot goes all the way to the floor on a somewhat regular basis...
