MDS on while in park mode?

Good afternoon everyone,

I want to remove my MDS but don’t wanna pay $800 for a tune also. I’m planning on just changing my gear limiter to 8 every time I start the truck. My question is when you turn on the truck and it’s in park mode. Is the MDS active? Or is it only active when actually driving?

(I never want to expose the truck to MDS, I want my engine to last as long as possible)

It only comes on while driving. And there are conditions for it to activate. You can turn on the eco light in the EVIC to see it.

MDS won't activate in park (at least on my 4th gen), however MDS is not the cause of engine issues in RAMs that it is in the GMC/Chevys. The cam/lifter issues/hemi tick happen on the non-mds lifters, so it's not an MDS issue.
