Hi everyone!

My rear shocks just went out on my 2019 ram rebel. They currently are Bilsteins with a reservoir.. I can't see the exact model. Does anyone know what model I should be using? Do they need to be Bilsteins? Do I need one with a reservoir? Any help would be appreciated. TIA!

You can swap to a Bilstein 5100 w/ extended travel since the Rebel come with a minor lift. Otherwise go back to OEM Rebel Bilstein, which I'm sure cost a lot. The downside, is the 5100 might not match the same valving giving a different ride, plus they're not yellow to match. Otherwise swap all 4 corners with 5100's.

I could be wrong. But do Rebels come stock with bilstein shocks with revisors? I don't think they do.
(Edit - Some Rebels have Bilstein 4600 with reservoirs, super cool)

OP
I think you might be looking at Bilstein 5160 rear shocks. It sucks they are leaking but they are overall consider a decent performance upgrade.

If you are never going to be doing high speed off-road or continuous rock crawling. You don't really need a shock with a reservoir. The additional oil adds to cooling capacity and some other additional performance attributes. "Nice to haves".

But if you like the current ride. Might be worth just replacing them with an exact replacement. Otherwise as said above. The Bilstein 5100 are also a nice replacement over OEM typically.

Shock Surplus - Ride Control Supply - Shocks, Struts, Coilovers is a good site to see the shocks physically.

Yes, mine look like those! will the 5160 or the 5100 work? The dealer wanted 950 for just OEM belstein shocks above so I was trying to buy them myself. I don't care if they match with front at this point. You guys rock!

The pre-2021 Rebels came with reservoir Bilstein's. I still have mine on, although I'm replacing them in the next 6-8 months.

Those were 4600's with a reservoir. Those Rebels only came with those for a short time. Then they went to the 4600's without a reservoir. The 5100's can accommodate 2 inches of lift. They are also valved to ride firmer if that is an issue for you. But they will help take out some body roll and, they are only a few dollars more.
