New to the forum and have enjoyed reading it so far. I have read a couple of threads on this but curious if anyone has encountered this problem. I bought my 2020 Ram 1500 Limited about a month ago from a Buick/GMC dealer in South Carolina. I noticed a coolant smell on the test drive and mentioned it to the salesman on the test drive. Of course, he claimed not to smell anything. I asked the service shop to investigate and was told they changed some hoses out and coolant leaked on the engine block and should burn off after a little bit. I still smelled it after a couple of days and went back to the dealer and they said it looked like one of the hoses was leaking so the changed that and said I should be good. Still smelled it in the cabin and noticed a film on the inside of the windshield which from what I have read looks like a telltale sign of a bad heater core. Took it back again and they confirmed the heater core needed to be replaced. I left the truck with them for 2 days and they called me to tell me it was ready. I still smelled coolant in the cabin and called them back. One of the mechanics said he thinks there may have been some coolant in the HVAC and he asked me to bring it back so he could flush out the HVAC. The thing is, after all this, I still smell coolant for a few seconds after I start it, doesn't matter if it is a cold start or if the engine is warm. The smell goes away after a few seconds. The truck does not overheat or run hot and I cannot see any coolant leaks in the driveway and the fluid level seems fine. Is it normal to smell coolant for a few seconds after a heater core replacement and is this something I should be concerned with?

You should delete this and post it in the appropriate area. You'd get more people to see it. This is the new member area.

First of Welcome and we are glad you are here! :)
As vincentw56 said you probably should post that problem in the appropriate section.
It does find people that have the same problem. Searching may also help you find info about it.
We LOVE pictures around here so maybe you can attract more people to the problem.
