I'm about to buy a '25 Limited with the 14.4" screen (UC5).
I'm coming from a '21 Limited with 12" screen (UC4). I use an Ottocast dongle now to have wireless CarPlay from my iPhone.
My buddy has a '23 Limited with UC5. He got the WiFi hotspot subscription in his truck. But then he said that he found that if he connects his iPhone to CarPlay (wireless, of course), he cannot then get Internet access via the truck's hotspot.
I.e. his phone is connected to wireless CarPlay and his wife and kids cannot use the truck's hotspot to get on the Internet. But, if he disconnects from wireless CarPlay, then Internet works for everyone.
Does that sound right?
Is it still the case with UC5 in a '25 model truck?
I'm considering trying out the hotspot subscription in my new truck, but not if it is basically unusable when you're using CarPlay. I use CarPlay all the time.
