Hey folks, here is my issues and I have seen a few threads on other forms but no solutions. I own a 2024 Rebel 5.7L with etorque and a 8HP75 transmission. I have just over 25k miles and started to hear the noise around 8k miles. Oil changes every 4k for the first 20k miles and now every 5.

what I have noticed is there is a rattle at the end of the first gear shift into second from a stop. If I’m moving/coasting in first and then accelerate I don’t hear it. It will be more noticeable with light acceleration and shorter when hard acceleration. Seems to be intermittent and only when the transmission temp is above 160. I have noticed a reduced mpg from 15.7 to 14.7 (ish). I only have filled it with 89 octane gas from the time I purchased it. I have not noticed the noise when turning from a stopped position. The noise is not present when in park or neutral and reving the engine (which leads me to suspect the transmission/torque converter). I have heard the noise in 4wd, 2wd, and auto4wd leading me away from the transfer case.

I took it to the dealership, only to hear “could not replicate the noise.” I asked the shop if they serviced the transmission for fluid with the reply of something about it being life time fluid. Chrysler contradicts the ZF recommendations for service. Upon this disappointing visit to hear those words that they could not replicate, I decided to service the transmission myself. I drained and dropped the pain, put a new pan on, new fluid, and ran through the fill procedures. I’m not shy around fixing trucks and short of ripping out and breaking down an engine to its parts I can fix it.

Sadly, it didn’t fix the issue. Shifts better though.

The transmission oil was very dark, with no glitter, and the magnetics had what I would expect on them. Took it back to the dealer with video recording of the issue only to have them tell me they don’t hear it on the video and the Forman couldn’t hear it on our drive. Now note, this guy was 55+ with hearing aids. I’m skeptical he could hear anything. Again I was told there is nothing to fix.

I have pulled on the heat shields and poked around to see if it is something.

Anyone else experience this rattle?

This is a short I created. It’s not the exhaust and I have pulled and wiggled everything I could, nothing is loose
