Hi,

I purchased a 2023 RAM 1500 Longhorn...what an amazing piece of metal!!!!

We moved over from Gemany and will have the pleasure to enjoy a few years in USA. It's still all new and its the greatest experience I ever made in my life.

So far I drove European cars, mainly Merceds, VW, Fiat, Mazda and some french cars like Dacia and Renault...all nice, but nothing in comparisson to the truck..!!!

I already digged deep into the threads - but for sure there are still millions of questions to raise.

THX and have a great day with your RAM.

Marc

I am BACK :)

While I had some serious issues with my first RAM 1500 in 2023, I decided to trade the truck for an 2024 JEEP Grand Cherokee L with the V6 3.6 Pentastar. Although the Jeep was a nice car, very comfortable, quiet, easy to handle and in the L version spacious - it's not a RAM and especially not a V8.

Although I was almost happy with the Jeep - the RAM was always in my mind. When Stelantis decided to kill the V8 in 2024, it was a nightmare for me.

But, to keep a long story short: I sold the Jeep and bought a factory new 2023 (!!) RAM 1500 with the iconic HEMI 5.7 V8 with 13 Miles ODO.....official Dealer, full warranty and nice equipped. Of course I hope, that I do not run again in any issues with the HEMI - but that would be really bad luck.

Delivery will be this Saturday. Couldn't wait :)

Cheers

Marc

Guten Tag! what issues are you referring to. i hope the e-torque also know as a "mild hybrid system" did not and don't give you trouble. other than that RAM's are pretty reliable
worst car i ever rented in the EU petrol vw up, second is the fiat panda, the citron diesel was pretty good

Hallo :-)
I had serious issues with the engine with a loud ticking (below 5000 Miles!) when the engine was hot (not the "standart HEMI tick"), The dealer made several tests and in the end Star Hotline decided to exchange the engine to a brandnew one.

Reason: There was dirt / residue from the production in the engine coolant and oil, what damaged the whole engine, especially the cylinders and pistons. Obviously something went wrong during the production.....

They took good care about the exchange and the dealer did a great job. However, my trust into this special truck was gone.....

Hang in there, I know how you feel. I had my motor replaced at 40011 miles and now have 46K+. Did a 3000 mile trip and averaged 20 mpg with 1 tank hitting 24. That restored some confidence and the more miles I put on the better I feel.
