So I was in the market for a newer truck and ended up looking at Silverado that was clapped, but the dealership had this a 2021 ram 1500 crew cab 6'4" bed with the 5.7 hemi and etorque. I didn't think id like it but test drove it anyways then ended up buying it lol, 1 owner 156k miles the dude brought it in for oil changes every 5000 miles i think he used it a lot for highway cruising as the truck doesn't have any signs of much wear and tear other then the bed and a singular rip in the driver seat.

Two days after buying it i used it to tow the race car 1700 miles round trip to go drifting in Alabama (I'm in central Florida) really got to get a feel for it and honestly I love it, the cloth seats are super comfy and I love how far they tilt back. The rear seats fold up so easy and there is so much room for luggage in the back with the extra space from the crew cab I'm not used to the newer vehicle life, the 8 speed made the towing so much more consistent.

It does have a few issues I've discovered the passenger header has a bad exhaust leak when its cold it gets better as it warms but never quite goes away, I only have one key fob and its very beat up plus it doesn't have the tailgate drop button despite my tailgate seeming to have the actuator and shock to do it. The truck also doesn't have some features i really want like bed lights, passive entry, full center console and especially a trailer brake controller.

But I'm happy to have it and its definitely a big upgrade to my old 5.4 excursion, that being said some of these upgrades seem complicated so any help or anyone I can chat with is greatly appreciated.

Welcome! I'm a new member like yourself and hope to hear more from you.
Whatever the question is the answer is here. I try to look for it first and if I can't find it in 15-30 minutes I go ahead and ask. It keeps the older members from going nutty with the same questions.
The exhaust is a common issue and something I did lookout for when I was shopping. I unfortunately don't have the solution but there are members here that have.
I would recommend rear air shocks or towing spring to level the towing situation.
The brake controller you may see if a oem unit is available without too much work.
Sorry I couldn't help much, but congrats on the new truck

Thanks I play by the same rules trying not to post questions that have already been answered! I actually just ordered the parts from moparwholesale parts to add the factory trailer brake controller and bed lights! i also ordered some leveling bags to fix the tow sag when i have it loaded. planning to do more too it after a while, while im putting the bags in im gonna take a look at the header for the leak.

That wasn't specifically aimed at you nor do have influence over rule making. I used to work on BMW's and Ford 6.0 for many years and I know how it got at the end of my helpfulness is the only reason I said that. It was more of me thinking out load than me holding the key of knowledge which I may have sounded like. Sorry if it did.
I'm not sure if the trailer brake has to be added on with a GWS but it might very well be.
