So I got the warning light a while back and finally went to fix it. I've replaced the 4x4 actuator, intermediate shafts, cv shafts. I've checked the wiring on the actuator as well. Everything works as it should but the light is still on. I've tried disconnecting the battery for over an hour and still on. Is there something I'm missing?

Have you had the code read yet? It may have nothing to do with any of the components youve already looked at. Heck, it may honestly just be an original battery that is throwing gremlins as it dies a slow death.

Not the original battery, that was replaced a bit ago. My code reader topdon al500 is not showing any codes.

Yes, both those lights. And no not intermittent, on all the time. Every once in a while I'll get a service shifter notification come up. Could it be the shifter module?

So mine is very intermittent. Comes on and off as I drive. Sometimes when I’m stopping, sometimes when accelerating. Then it goes away.

Another guy on here reported he had the wire in the rear diff short out and that’s what was causing this. I think my issue maybe similar to his.

Here’s the info anyway. There is a wire inside the rear diff that powers an actuator to activate the e-locker. Sometimes that wire’s insulation get chaffed causing it to short out. Attaching a few photos of what the inside of the rear diff looks like and the wire damage itself. I have all the materials to do the job/inspect it. Just haven’t gotten to it yet. Lol.

Now I did have my wires chuffed and broken on the outside of the diff. And I replaced the plug/pigtail and still had the message so I figured it was something internal on the diff. To bad there's no part number for the sensor in the diff.

I looked it up with the dealer. The sensor is no longer sold separately. Gotta buy the entire diff. Something like $1500 in Canada.

No, it's all been fixed for a while now. Where in Canada are you? Medicine hat, ab for me

Never been that far east. But if I ever get this damn truck all fixed up, I plan on hitting up the east coast.

Bought new, I've had almost all the wiring for the bumper sensors and the electronic brake has corroded out at the plugs. Temp sensor wiring corroded. Other than that it's been all normal maintenance stuff. Heck, I just did the full front drive line with had 390k on it. Let's just say I should have let someone else deal with that ********. Lol

I drive about 120k a year. Work has me everywhere from bc to mb. Highways, mountain trails, farm fields. Ice roads. This truck has been everywhere. Ram should be paying me for testing the **** outta their trucks. Lol
