2023 Lone Star 1500 - went from 84 miles remaining parked to empty 12 hours later

Title. Got this truck about a week ago - about 24k miles on it. Drove it to work and was surprised the fuel economy said I had about 84 miles left - I thought it was at about 120-something when I last parked.

Came back 12 hours later, remote start wouldn’t work, got in and tried to start, lots of errors on the dash, fuel gauge shows empty, Ram app shows empty.

Is this documented behavior? If so, what would cause this? Do I have a fuel leak? Or is there some setting that burns fuel when the truck is off?

This is my first truck and I’m definitely scratching my head right now. I had to have a co-worker bring me home tonight. Going to fuel it with a gas can tomorrow and see if it at least fires up and removes all the errors. But still, I need to know if this is to be expected or if I have a lemon or what.

Well, honestly it sounds like you indavertantly left the truck running when you exited. It then idled till it died and then killed the battery. The low battery would explain the many warnings, this is a well-known issue.

Hate to admit but I've done this a couple times, which I chalk up to the push button start. I've always caught it before running too long so haven't run it out of fuel so I can't say for sure what the truck would do once out of fuel.

Regarding the Range or Miles-to-Empty, it will change a lot between driving city vs highway, etc...so that is explainable too. It reacts to real time fuel mileage, not the average. Case in point, I've driven over five miles without the range number dropping even one mile. It's because I went from stop and go to easy highway so the system recalculates as it's happening.

Also, I'm talking miles-to-empty having big losses after the car has been PARKED FOR LONG PERIODS (like overnight). I'm aware how it can change - I don't understand why I can park it with 120 miles remaining and start it up the next morning with 84 miles remaining.

Low fuel won't cause a check engine light or any other issues other than remote start won't work you have other electrical issues. Take it to dealer.

Roadside is on the way to jump. We’ll see if that at least gets me going again. Dealer is an hour away - tow might run pretty expensive. Sucks.

If you are still under warranty, they will pay for tow to closest dealer

Should still be under warranty and I paid for the Assurant everything. Most expensive (and biggest) vehicle I've ever owned - I want to make sure I'm protected. Emailed and texted my sales supervisor and will call as soon as they're open tomorrow morning.

Dunno. My co-worker who has a 2500 Laramie said I didn't have one. Maybe there is one, everything is plenty loud and purrs nice when it's actually working.

maybe the PO did a resonator delete. that makes it kinda loud. ram felt the need to put a huge muffler and 2 resonators on the trucks. that makes them pretty quiet.
