The newly updated 3rd brake light assembly has an updated gasket that works. Be sure to seal the 4 screws by wrapping butyl tape around the top 1/3 of threads . The sealant used in the tsb works great if the surface is prepped and cleaned first.

How do you clean the gap around the window?

Use non ammonia glass cleaner. Amazon has a super thin cleaning brush available for a couple of dollars to scrub the area. Then soak a paper towel with denatured alcohol and use a thin plastic squegee to push soaked towel in and slide paper towel using squeegee. Do this a couple of times. Then allow to dry for a few minutes.

I haven’t had any issues in 22K and just under 2 years in my 2023 Limited, but I’m not taking any chances.
When the weather flips and warms up.. I’m going to go the flowable silicone on mine.
Good tips on cleaning Nuseal, thank you.

Got a 2019 and need to seal/reseal the 3rd brake light. Should I reuse the original brake light or who has an updated one? Also is it best to just use butyl tape or a new gasket? Thanks

I ordered this for my 2019 rebel. The AH has the improved gasket.

AH has the new gasket. Be sure and seal the screws by wrapping top third with butyl tape. Many dont do this and the screws DO leak if not sealed
