Are the stock upper control arms the same across all trims? Put another way, does a Limited with air suspension have a different UCA then a BigHorn?

There are two different OEM upper control arms, "regular" and the ones included with the Mopar lift kit which look identical other than more travel in the ball joint. I didn't verify this but some claim the Mopar lift uca's are also the same as air suspension

@Scram1500 Well, there's the answer to that. But, I do wonder about your point. It's plausible if the air suspension does hike up the truck ~ 2". I bet the part numbers won't tell us the story. I'll update either way.

Well there goes that theory hahahahhaa

Level Kit:

"Offers a 2-inch Suspension Lift for Crew Cabs with 5.7L engines providing excellent handling both on- and off-road. Kit includes front shocks, upper control arms, rear shocks, spring spacers, jounce spacers, and track bar bracket. Not compatible with Rebel trim levels or trucks equipped with air suspension (sales code SER)."

So, either RAM doesn't want people to know that the air-ride equipped RAMS are already using the Secret Squirrel UCAs.....or, there's only one UCA.

My whole point is, factually ,how bad is running a 2" spacer (on top of assembly, NOT preloading the spring)? Yes, spacers suck - period. I agree. But I haven't got my $2k for proper coil assemblies and UCAs just yet. And I'd really like to level my truck until then. I should qualify that I don't 'offroad'. The truck does go on the beach and deep sand can get the truck bouncing and exploiting a truck's limited up-travel real quick. My concern is the ball-joints. If using a 2" top spacer doesn't work the UCA ball joint outside of its range, there's no harm.

Ewww spacers. Logic says just wait, save up and do the install one single time and deal with the rake until then.

There might be shenanigans at the parts bin. I got the Mopar lift ucas from RockAuto, funny thing is they are less than half the price of a regular uca. $65 instead of $170

Holy smokes! How'd you find the lift UCA part numbers? And you were able to compare them side by side. Could you see the difference? More range on the new ball joint or the angle of the ball joint integrated on the new swing arm a different angle?

The part numbers are in the lift kit installation instructions. The uca are identical other than more travel in the ball joint. I have them on my truck now which is stock ride height. Camber, alignment, etc. all checks out

When I was younger my patience was zero, I would take XYZ apart just to install whatever mod. Then do it again days/weeks/months later to install part B. Nowadays if I know it requires me to remove the same parts I gotta remove again to install another future mod.. I just wait and do it all at one time. Unless its needed repair.

This is a good point. I was actually discussing this exact subject with a coworker today.
