Extended warranty worth it?

I own a 2019 Big Horn that I bought new. It has 51,000 miles on it now. I plan on driving it for another 4-5 years no more than an additional 50k miles (total 100k miles). Is an after-market warranty worth it? Thinking 4 years 100,000 miles... I haven't had any major issues, but I always get a little nervous that something big could go after 50k miles. Any thoughts or suggestions? Thanks.

Just my opinion but most 3rd party warranties are not worth much. Research the reviews of the different companies. YT has some, as well as forum posts.

Hows your finances? A lot of folk think you should put the cost in the bank.
All insurance is simply you betting you will have a problem and the company betting that you won’t.
A small product sample will give skewed results (an individual post for example) but like in Las Vegas, the odds are with the “house”, or the warranty company in this case.
I had one Ford extended warranty and never used it. That’s a sample size of one. Someone else will have used their MaxCare warranty well more than what it cost.

I agree about 3rd party warranties. I’ve had a couple of them in the past and they were difficult at best to get them to cover covered repairs. So many hoops to through. And one even required that I pay for the repair and they would reimburse me for the costs.

The biggest thing is to be sure and thoroughly read through the contract to know what is and what isn’t covered. And how repairs are dealt with.

If you could get a Max Care warranty to cover your mileage, it may be worth it… but aftermarket, I’d steer away from.
With a big horn you don’t have air ride, probably don’t have all the tech in some higher trim trucks (heads up display, sensors for just about everything, etc)
As Willwork said, I had Max care on my 2015…it paid for itself several times over in 8 years, 140K miles.
I bought one again for my 23 Limited with WAY more tech than my 15…and I hope I don’t have to use it.

Yes, you can also save money and hope you managed to save enough to cover a repair…or bet that a 2500 to 4K warranty investment covers you on something big… you just never know.
You can be on top of your maintenance, not abuse the truck..and there are no guarantees…just luck of the draw.

I agree. It's a roll of the dice! You are right that even though I have the Level 2 package, there is not as much tech as in the newer models. Thanks for your advice.
