Uconnect 4 Update

We can provide application updates for Uconnect 3, 4, & 5 which we get directly from Uconnect themselves. We do not modify or even open the updates when downloading them. If its a retrofit that needs an update then we need the VIN from the donor vehicle or the part number of the Uconnect modules as well as the current application number of the radio module. This can be found in dealer mode by holding the temp up, temp down, and defrost at the same time. From there in system information there is an Application number. Feel free to send myself or @Dave_Infotainment as he is the gate keeper to Uconnect Updates.

Hello- Yesterday I was prompted to update my Uconnect software in my 2019 Ram 1500 with 12 inch. All completed successfully as of this morning. I have no idea what was actually fixed though. Nothing really looks different. I attached a photo of the version from the System Info Screen. Thanks for any information that may be available.

How did you get the notification and do the update? Do you need SirriusGuardian subscription? Mine expired as I didn't really use it. My 2019 Ram is not getting the updates. I am stuck on 59.5 and should be at 60.1. Hasn't updated in a year and a half Uconnect said. They are telling me I have to go to dealer and pay the dealer to manually update is, which is obsurd.

Can you please share who here I can get the update file from? I refuse ot pay a dealer to do this, especially being an IT guy! Appreciate any 411 that you can provide. Thanks!

I agree. I even called Uconnect. They also show no updates received and told me to go to dealer and pay for it to be manually done. It's their programming, why are we paying....

Here is an update. I called Uconnect support. As someone replied earlier despite the OTA update just happening this past weekend 2/3/24 it was an old version?? Long story short Uconnect said the newest version is R 40.1 and it can only be applied by the dealer. I made an appt at dealer tomorrow. Here is a shot of the TSB and all it addresses I found in another chat. Hope that helps. I definitely experience several of these issues now that I see the TSB.

I just called Uconnect yesteraday to tell them my radio was not updating. THey said it has to be done at dealer. Dealer is charging me. Are they charging you? Not sure why they are making us pay for an update that they cannot execute OTA. What happened with you and our dealer?

You can update yourself for free with a USB thumb drive. There are a few here on forum who have the update files

Where is this? I actually asked Uconnect this and they said No, no thumb drives, etc to update ourselves, we have to pay dealer.

hmmm I have a 2020 but still on 12.1-LR-35.41.0-20230314. Am I supposed to get an OTA update? Ive never gotten one. does it automatically pop up? Im not even sure how or if its even connect to the internet. Where do I find the most current version? Uconnect says that 2020+ wont be found on their website because of OTA.

Supposedly 2020 would get OTA updates, but I've never gotten one. I just uodated myself. Even the Uconnect website said I was up to date even though I was two updates behind according to available revisions.

I am wanting to find updates for the 8.4 non nav in my 21 DT. I have Sirius trial after buying truck, but nothing comes up about update. I am having this static sound, is not loud, just random in sat, android auto etc, random will cause distortion etc. I bypasses anc, no change. One song will sound good, next crappy, is random in every type music.

I figured it out, dash speakers were wired wrong, but still think update would help.

When I finished updating to 40.1, it did briefly show it was trying to do an update OTS. However, when verifying any additional versions, nothing changed an remained at 40.1. I read somewhere that it might have tried to update to 40.12 (I think that's the current version out there?).

It sounds like you have the UAM model radio. There actually hasn't been a new software update for that radio in a few years. The latest version is 1848.34. What does the SW/FW version say in your system information. (Dealer Mode, hold down the bottom corners of the touch screen for 5-10 seconds, click radio part information, then system information).

That version looks like it could be higher than the USB versions, unless that was the factory base update and just looks like that. It doesn't make sense being a 2021 radio to have a version higher than the ones that came out in 2022, and the UAM doesn't have OTA updates. So I'm thinking it's the former, a base version and they made newer ones that appear to be a lower version.

I was incorrect. It turns out that the 2021 UAM model has a specific update that's above the 20xxxx version. It's the 2036.06. Only the 2019-2020 use the versions up to 1848.32.

Placed update on 32gb usb stick, put it in usb under radio, took about 25 minutes, update went fine, zero issues. Thank you!
