Found all relays under the hood had worked themselves 1/4" to 3/8" out of their sockets.

I was under my hood troubleshooting a drained battery when I discovered that all the relays in the main fuse block had worked their way nearly out of their sockets. Rough guess is that they were all 1/4 - 3/8" out from fully seated.

Curious if anyone else has ever noticed this phenomenon?

Let's say the terminals/pins on the relays are 1/2" long, the 1/4-3/8" makes zero difference. The connection is still good.

You need to figure out why the battery is dying.

Agreed, the two issues are likely unrelated so I edited the thread to put the focus on the fact that the relays had nearly worked their way out of the sockets.
And if they are moving, it's only a matter of time before one does reach the end of it's engagement and starts causing issues.

Are we thinking this is vibration related or do I need to start questioning my co-workers? I know we prank pretty hard but I don't think any of them are at this level...

That is how they come off the line

Interesting...moving on then.

I appreciate the insider info. Nobody knows these trucks like trained techs!
