2023 Big Horn Footwell Light - Removal?

I've been dealing with a back and arm injury of late, hard to get under there to get a good look at it. The 2023 seems different than the old ones where you just pop off the small plastic dome/cover.

Any tips to getting this thing out so I can replace the bulb?

Only thing I can suggest is checking YouTube for it, or the aftermarket lighting companies usually have how to videos to show you how to change them. You may be able to give one a call and they will walk you through it. I have a 2019 so it was the old style, super easy. Good luck.

So I did a longer search and still haven't found a video on how to, but I copied and pasted this from a Google search. See if there is a panel to remove on the 2023. You probably already saw this and looked though. I'll keep looking for you though.


In a 2023 Ram 1500, the footwell lights are typically located under the dashboard, near the driver and passenger footwells; you will see small LED light units mounted on the underside of the dashboard, illuminating the area around your feet when activated.

  They are usually designed to be discreetly placed, but you should be able to see the light source when looking under the dashboard near your feet.

Thanks, I'll see about a panel when I can. Dealing with a back/arm/shoulder injury right now unfortunately so I won't be jamming myself under there anytime soon.

I was able to feel the plug that feeds power (removeable) and it feels like the whole thing snaps into a thin plastic "panel" of some sort that is attached to the bottom of the dash right next to the trunk release. Seems like the "panel" was about 4"x4" or so.

I couldn't figure how to get it removed, if that was actually the case. again I'm kinda going by feel b/c I can't really get under there to see what's happening.

My old eyes might not be much help even if I could at that close distance anyhow lol.

I hope you get better soon! If I come across anything helpful I will post it back here. Like I said earlier I have the 2019 and that one was easy, the upper glovebox required a little more patience. It was the earlier gens that made me buy the bulb thinking it was going to be easy! jokes on me!
