I need my windshield replaced and the replacement place ran my VIN. It came back with a rain sensor option. Never seen any controls for this in the panel or anywhere else. The only thing I have is the auto-dimming inside review mirror, no lane keeping, auto cruise control, etc. Am I missing something when looking thru the control panel?

It's an option so maybe you don't have it if you can't find the settings in Uconnect. It's under the wiper settings. It's mounted to the windshield on the center right.

the first few clicks on the wiper is auto wiper. if you leave the wiper control on first click and it doesn't engage after one sweep on a sunny day then you have the rain sensor. there's not much you can "control" other than headlight being on with the wipers working.

No true. There is a setting in Uconnect to turn auto wiper on and off. That way the first few clicks become standard intermittent wipers.

My stalk mounted wiper control is: down for off, then 4 or 5 intermittent settings, then constant slow & fast positions. If there is an option in the settings for auto, I lose the intermittent settings and just have the slow & fast ones, correct?

If so, I think I would rather have manual control.

If you have the setting, it turns the intermittent into auto sensors. It will then turn them on and off as needed. Better than intermittent. The intermittent settings change into sensitivity settings. First one is the least sensitive then it goes up from there. In heavy rain it will speed up too. I keep mine on 1 and have never had to turn them on in 3 years.

That is correct. The auto sensing setting replaces the manual intermittent ones. The intermittent settings become the sensitivity of the auto sensing feature.

Certainly you could forego the auto feature (if equipped) for manual intermittent. I find the auto sensing works pretty well.

My window sticker shows this: Next to last thing listed are the rain-sensitive windshield wipers:

Here's my window sticker...the only reference to rain is "Brake Support", whatever that is. Highlighted in yellow.

Well from that sticker it looks like you don't have the rain sensing wipers.
