8.4 uconnect upgrade to a 12” screen

I have a 20’ ram tradesman with the 8.4 UC stereo. I want to upgrade to the 12” UC screen. I purchased the 12” screen with bazel and switches. My question is can I plug the 8.4 module into the 12” screen temporarily u til I can buy the correct 12” module. I have no heat because the knob broke. I plan to buy tge 12” UC module but that may not be until after the new year. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Not the expert on this but I did do the upgrade myself and my understanding is nothing will work correctly without the correct module to go with the 12”. I would just leave you 8.4” in until you have everything to do the swap. Pretty straight forward once you have everything you need. Hope that helps.

you must have the 12 module. there are a few more parts you need aside from the screen and bezel. let me know if you want help

Shoot me a message I upgraded to u-connect 5 12" and have some uc4c parts
u-connect 4 12" screen and a module you would need a center stack maybe few cables...

Would the same part numbers apply for a 2021 3500 Diesel? Currently have the 5in non-nav, single climate zone. Trying to go to the 12in dual zone.
Wanna make sure I have everything before jumping in.

Remember nothing will make the vehicle a real dual zone AC. Setting the vehicle to Dual Zone auto will make Comfort show up on the radio. If set to single zone auto you will not see comfort on the screen. Single Zone manual shows comfort I believe.
