I was looking for extended travel CV axles to eliminate clunking at full articulation hopefully. I just ordered suspensionmaxx sway bar end links, but I figured I'd order CVs also.

The question is, do 2019-2020 share the same CV shaft as 2021+ Rams? TrakMotive has a set but they are for 2019-2020 and I have a 2023

'19-'24 will be the same IN THE 5TH GENS.

Now, the 4th gen continued on in production also, so that is the question that you need to ask Trakmotive.

Any love for RCV?

Nice, I couldn't find them on their website

Sometimes it's better to search by part number on RockAuto and not by vehicle/year

Rockauto.com has the correct shaft for $146 5Th Gen are all the same.

Hello,

I was researching CV axles for my 2020 RAM Lonestar 4x4 and came across this post. I found the same ones you have pasted below, but then I saw another cv axle that mentioned 4x4.

The one you pasted says it's for 6 lug wheels, but does not mention 4x4. I thought that all 6 lug wheels were for 4x4. Do you know if this is correct?

Also, were you just helping someone find parts with this post, or have you actually used them on your truck as well?

My boots have busted and I need to get them replaced ASAP so I was just looking for some info, if you don't mind.

Any feedback you could provide me with would be most appreciated.

Thanks!

you only have CV if you have 4x4.
If you have 2WD there's no CV in the front.

If you have 2WD and the boot's busted then it's your steering rack not the CV.

Also 6 lug wheels are gen 5, 5 lug are classic or older gen. 2wd or 4wd the same

Hate to resurrect an older thread, but is this, in fact, the correct P/N for the Trakmotive XTT? I have a 2022 Bighorn 4WD (DT) but when searching P/Ns on Trak Motive's website, it comes up with a different P/N. (CH-86030). I have a busted boot so I figured I would replace both sides since I have a slight lift on my truck.

Looks like the ch-86030 is an OEM replacement, where as the ch-86010xtt is the extended travel for lifted trucks

I reached out to Trakmotive today via email (busy workday) and the gentleman from the tech support stated the 86010XTT was NOT for 5th gen Rams. It wasn't listed as an option for 5th gens either. But, another parts distributor listed the 86010XTT and said it was comparable to another brand that was listed on Rock Auto as an extended travel CV for lifted 5th gens. 😶🫥

Has anyone installed the 86010XTT on a 5th gen and if so, feedback? Any issues?

I have them and will be installing them soon. It's interesting that the customer service rep said they are not for 5th Gen Rams when their own parts catalog says differently

Interesting. My guess is because I have a '22, he assumed they wouldn't fit.

I've read mixed reviews on these. What are your thoughts?

Will let you know after I install them.

Has anyone installed these yet? I just finished up my 3.5 kit and getting some binding issues on a 2022 and looking at getting some of these. Everything I see from the measurements on the CH-86010XTT is identical to stock from the splines down to the compressed length so I don't see why they wouldn't work, but still hesitant.

I installed mine a few weeks ago. Haven't done any extreme driving yet, but so far so good. Install was easy.

Just as an FYI, I installed one on my drivers side last year on my 2020, and had a very slight interference with my Fox 2.5s in a small spot. I drove it for around 50 miles to wear it down, and it's been perfect since
