So about a month ago I got a set if tires at my local Big O, I didn’t notice that my wheel weights were stripped off til I was washing my truck a couple weeks ago. Is this common for tire dealerships to do this? I mean it looks ****ty the way they left the left over rubber marking on inside of wheels.

Pics? I can't picture what you are saying. My wheel weights are on the inside of the rim.

They have to strip off the old weights before they can balance the new tires.

I'm sure they'd be happy to scrub the residue off the inside of the wheels for a price, but don't expect them to do it as part of a standard balance.
I’m just going to scrub it off myself. Figured they’d at least tell me that they removed them. Thanks for your help.

Having worked in a couple tire shops, they probably figured you'd know they have to remove the old weights before balancing them. I can say I never told any customers that. Although I usually at least made an attempt at removing the residue from the old weights.

I do t know a single tire shop, unless they are custom tire/wheel shop, that removes the residue from the old weights. And yes, they have to remove the old weights to balancer the wheels for the new tires.

removing old weight when installing new weights is standard practice because less weight needed is better.
Sometimes, and I say SOMETIMES, tires mounted are so perfectly balanced that they don't need weights (few Toyo passenger car tires, Milestar passenger car tires, and many Wildpeak AT3W I mounted achieve perfect balance with 0 weight).

I don't spend time removing residuals... I don't do it for custom wheels, and not even TE37s or any Rays wheels. at $10 to mount and $10 balance I ain't got time for that unless the customer pays the hourly rate for it then I'll sit there for an hour scrubbing the wheels. Hell, I'll also clean the brake dust off for you too.

Now, if the weights are gone and there's no new weight... and it looks like the weight fell off while driving... bring them wheels back for rebalance.
