First...my apologies. This will likely be lengthy. I have a persistent P2138 code after a mechanic did an mds delete (which I now regret) the mechanic couldn't fine the problem but I don't think he tried very hard. The code came up right after he did the delete. He said he test drove it but I'm...
The accelerator pedal sensor was replaced a few weeks ago. I think I have found and checked all of the grounds in the area. Would it be worthwhile checking the ground at each of those sensors back to the negative on the battery and see if any voltage is present and also for continuity?
I have a 2019 ram 1500 hemi. Occasionally when I get in to start the vehicle and I press the start button with my foot on the brake nothing happens. I can press it repeatedly and nothing at all happens but within a few minutes it will just wake up and advance to the ACC position all by itself...
hello everyone
i'm wondering if anyone has come across this issue or might have any suggestions. After tracing down many electrical issues with my 2019 ram 1500. I have finally gotten down to a P2138 code indicating improper voltage reading from the accelerator pedal sensor. Just for grins and...
I checked at the OBD2 port ground to Canbus high and ground to Canbus low.
I'm getting lots of electrical issues and warning lights on the dash. Lose all throttle response within 10 minutes of starting up the truck and it just revs up to about 1500 RPMs which allows me to continue moving but...
The way I understand it the Canbus system low side should be 2.5 V or below and the canbus high side should be 2.5 V or higher. At the resting state with no information being transmitted each side will have 2.5 V.
I am getting all kinds of canbus errors and I decided to rig up my multimeter...
I spoke too soon. Literally three minutes after I posted the last reply the accelerator pedal response died and the error messages on the dash are back. I should've known better than to jump the gun and post so quickly.
So today I thought, I wonder if this intelligent battery sensor could be the culprit behind a lot of these weird codes. So I replaced it because it's a relatively inexpensive part and takes like 3.5 minutes and all but two codes have gone away. Even the cylinder 4 misfire is gone. However now I...
Another update. I replaced both of the rear light assemblies and while those codes are not showing up all of the rest of them are and the symptoms keep getting weirder. I did go by AutoZone today just to have them test the battery since I purchased it about three months ago and they indicated...
I've decided to invest in a new scan tool that is much more feature rich than the very limited BlueDriver reader that I have. I would like to be able to do more advanced diagnostics and possibly even change some settings or at least have our mechanic do it. We have a small fleet of ram vehicles...
There's a little update. I disconnected and cleaned and reconnected every ground I could get a hold of on the truck over the weekend. I also found that the rear driver side tail light was my problem. Not the passenger side. The wiring connector was pretty well corroded and there is something...
2019 ram 1500 with 149,000 miles. I recently had a mechanic delete the MDS system with new cam, lifters springs, etc.
Even before this I was having some minor electrical issues like the overhead lights pulsing when the engine was at idle and an occasional check engine light that would pop up and...
I actually did not replace the taillight.with all the other issues I completely forgot about that.
On another note. Today a new symptom showed up. All the dash lights lit up again and the vehicle started accelerating on its own. I hit the brakes to slow down and when I took my foot off the...
There's another follow up. These ability control light just came back on and then a couple seconds later the break symbol on the dash came on as well as the low fuel and the fuel gauge went to empty the bottom of the center display says no bus battery voltage says zero and the buttons on the...
This is an update to this original post.
I had the heads rebuilt with a new OEM cam , MDS delete kit and a new high flow oil pump. Replaced the alternator and serpentine belt. The engine now runs like a top but there are still some electrical problems.
Before going into these strange symptoms...
