I ended up buying a fancy spring compressor and doing the 5100s on my truck and my dad's truck. We set them in the middle setting and got it to look about perfectly leveled. It rides a fair bit stiffer now but I'm not too bothered by it. I think it rides about like a 1500 truck from 15 years...
Well that's a real bummer. I'm going to look into the cost of a nice spring compressor to own but I may end up going back in with a factory shock or at least a factory size aftermarket.
I know this thread is getting a little old now but I am looking into getting a set of 5100's for the front of my truck. I can't seem to find a good answer anywhere on how to make adjustments to the ride height after the new struts are installed. Do you have to remove them and compress the spring...
